If your firm utilises software from LEAP, we offer a comprehensive data migration service to Hoowla.
LEAP, an Australian company that recently entered the UK market, has acquired several small existing software suppliers and discontinued support for their products as part of their strategy to gain market share.
LEAP operates as a multi-tenanted web-based Case Management application. However, its web-based nature poses challenges when clients of LEAP require copies of their data. Due to the absence of a centralised database containing a firm’s data, LEAP cannot provide a complete backup of the firm’s information. Instead, they recommend that clients produce and export a series of reports from the LEAP reporting web page. While not an ideal solution, this data can still be used for the migration process.
It’s important to note that the LEAP system lacks functionality for the firm’s own accounts, setting it apart from most mainstream legal practice management software. To effectively run a firm using LEAP, a generic accounting product such as Xero needs to be integrated, somewhat like a “bolt-on.” Although LEAP and Xero manage a degree of integration, it falls short of providing a complete legal accounts and practice management system. Therefore, the data from the LEAP system will be combined with that from Xero to create a unified and integrated set of data for your firm.
